Milau, France, 1994.
"This was the first summer I hit the road along with a lot of other British people sick of being hounded by the police after the Criminal Justice Bill started to take effect. This conversation was being held in a river near a big Teknival (illegal techno festival) in Milau in France. We were having a wash and a cool down and deciding what to do next. In this scene are people who went off to join with Spiral Tribe and other sound system tribes putting on illegal raves all over Europe. I remember it as a long conversation that was quite intense and was the moment that I, and others, decided we had to get a live-in vehicle and get out of the UK. A pivotal moment for everyone there and for the illegal rave scene as a whole." - Vinca Petersen
