When it is closed, Pawilon II has the color of dusty earth. It opens to a landscape of Wola Duchacka: a red brick building, and in front of it, a massive pile of debris, which was generated during the construction of the pawilon and its surroundings. This abandoned mound of concrete, earth, and garbage eventually became a playground for the local youth, including the artist as a child. There, they would dig for hidden treasures, build clandestine shelters, and light fires, the embers of which have scorched the wooden corners of the frame. The building in the foreground is the cultural centre of Wola Duchacka, which was often neglected during the 1990s; in this vacuum, the children found their own means of education.
