4 July 2022 Edel Assanti is pleased to announce Noémie Goudal’s solo exhibition, Phoenix, at the 53rd edition of Les Rencontres d’Arles curated by the Barbican's Alona Pardo at Église des Trinitaires.
In association with the Festival D’Avignon, Goudal and director Maëlle Poésy present ANIMA, an immersive performance at the Collection Lambert, 8-16 July.
Anchored in ideas around deep time (which can be loosely defined as a geological history of the planet), paleoclimatology (the study of past climates) and relational geographies, Noémie Goudal’s complex and performative series of films and constructed photographs reflect on the interconnectedness of human and non-human life. Knitting together lush vegetation, rocky coastlines, snow-capped mountains and swamplands, her latest body of work explores spatiotemporal vastness and post-anthropocentric modalities of belonging.
