10 January 2024 Edel Assanti is delighted to announce that Noémie Goudal has been nominated for the prestigious Marcel Duchamp Prize 2024.
Goudal's practice involves the construction of elaborate, illusionistic installations within the landscape, documented using film and photography. Her oeuvre expands photography across its standard parameters, into immersive installations and performances, underpinned by rigorous research examining the intersection of ecology and anthropology and the limitations of theoretical conceptions of the natural world.
Curated by Jeanne Brun, the exhibition by the four nominated artists will be held at the Centre Pompidou from 1 October 2024 through early January 2025, with the winner being announced on 14 October.
