In Home Fires 12, Noémie Goudal discusses her recent body of work Les Mécaniques - Tropiques (2020). Tropiques presents a series of six windows onto lush, vegetal landscapes, transporting us to the deep enclaves of the tropical basin. Closer inspection reveals a disjuncture within the hyperreal vernacular of the images, as the thick veneer of tropical vegetation stands in sharp contrast to areas of forestry belonging to the landscape of the northern hemisphere.
