Vinca Petersen: Ukraine Days
-
Edel Assanti is proud to present Ukraine Days, a fundraising event and online exhibition of photographs by gallery artist Vinca Petersen. Funds raised will be donated to the Future Youth Project (FYP), a small, direct action organisation, founded by Vinca and Clare Cameron in 2010. FYP has been running humanitarian projects in Ukraine since its inception.
On Wednesday 4 May at 6:30pm the gallery will host an evening of solidarity and support to raise funds for FYP and Happy Child Foundation, FYP's sister organisation in Ukraine, to support their continued humanitarian endeavours. The evening will feature performances by Sophie Barker, Mostar Diving Club and Gunville Flats featuring Harriet James.

Throughout April, the gallery will host an online exhibition of photographs drawn from Vinca's archive of FYP trips to Ukraine. The prints are offered in an edition of 20 at a special price of £200 each. All proceeds of sales will be donated to institutions in Ukraine that FYP supports. These diaristic images depict the warm, welcoming and wonderfully idiosyncratic Ukraine that Vinca fell in love with.
Our friends at Simon Beaugie picture framers and Bayeux printers are generously offering their services at cost.

"We are coming together to raise money to find Albert and his extended family a safe haven, not only for their own sakes but so that he can start to work on ensuring the safety of the hundreds that depend on him in Ukraine.
Helping this one man will help hundreds."
